Welcome to the Wild Ones Roanoke Region Chapter

The Wild Ones Roanoke Region Chapter is based in Roanoke and promotes the use of plants native to Southwest Virginia in the Ridge and Valley, Piedmont Foothills, and Blue Ridge ecoregions. The chapter primarily serves communities in Bedford, Botetourt, Craig, Floyd, Franklin, Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski, and Roanoke counties. But just as plants know no boundaries, neither do we! We promote environmentally friendly, sound landscaping to preserve biodiversity through the preservation, restoration, and establishment of native plant communities across the United States.

Our regular meeting and program is the Second Thursday of the month, 6:30 p.m., Christ Lutheran Church parish hall, 2011 Brandon Ave., Roanoke. But look for programs and events on other days, too!

Our programs are usually open to anyone, but we encourage you to join the Chapter to show your support for native plants. We are a group of like-minded people who support each other as we learn about landscaping with native plants. We like to share with others in our communities and networks about why it’s important to reintroduce native plants into public and private gardens. And we focus on how to go about doing it.

We are excited to offer local residents the opportunity to expand their impact in the natural landscaping movement and help promote native plants. Check out our programs and events — We hope you’ll join us!
